Richard, which screensaver is it that you use and have you tried this? So with this in mind, Bob, I do believe this is an issue with Windows and their Bubbles screensaver So, I tried with another screensaver.Mystify. So, I decided to use a different screensaver.Ribbons.ĪVG ran without any issues with the Ribbons screensaver. When I move the mouse and deactivate the screensaver, the clock goes to current time and AVG begins the scan. ![]() I wait 7 minutes later (allowing enough time to let AVG start scanning. The bubbles screensaver activates and again, everything tin the background stops. So, I set the screensaver to activate 1 minute after inactivity. Once deactivated, the clock shows current time. If the clock is at 2:30 when the screensaver activates, it remains on 2:30 behind the screensaver until the mouse is moved and the screensaver is deactivate. Time for 2 minutes later than the current time. My only problem with not having the screensaver activate is that I keepįorgetting to shut off my monitor before I walk away.īefore resolving to post to this forum, I did call AVG support and they feel it is the OS that is causing the issue being that the test we ran while the screensaver was turned on but not activated proved that the virus program began running after we set the I have had my screensaver shut off for the past 3 days and the virus program has been running on it's scheduled time. Nor do I want my computer to go into powersaver mode. I did recheck my power settings and they are still set to "Never" as I don't like my system going into the sleep/hibernate modes, ![]() My virus program has always ran on schedule with other MS OS's I've used but for some reason, with Win7 Home it's not.
